Laid off….again?!

Yes, I was laid off again.  How stupid really…

After I was laid off in February, it seemed like a long time before a really good opportunity came by.  I did a lot of interviews and all ended up being great, but took forever to get back to me.  Seems like everyone likes to procrastinate, not just me.  I finally went into an interview with this 1 specific company and she said that I seemed like a perfect fit, but I’d need to come back later to meet her boss and then they could make a decision….

I did the 2nd interview and passed with flying colors, I even mentioned Prague and they said it’s completely fine!  She called me the next day to offer me the job.  I was so excited and so was everyone else.  I started working promptly 2 weeks later and luckily this place was in Herndon, so it’s closer to me than Reston [which is where I used to work]. Update

Black Patent Very Prive 120mm

It’s been almost 5 months since I posted here!  Where does the time go?

I’ve been keeping myself busy…and sometimes just relaxing!  A bit as happened [good and bad] in 5 short months such as…

  • Thanksgiving
  • Snowmageddon 2010
  • fantastic Christmas
  • home remodeling [already!] including potential closet
  • awesome 25th birthday
  • getting laid off [!!!!]
  • going on unemployment
  • getting a new job
  • getting pre/post gifts because of a new job
  • vacations [past and future]

I’ll be writing about most of the highlights above along with an overdue page of about being a homeowner of a newly built house [with all the ups and downs], but I’m trying to make posting a habit now [yes...i know...i've said it time and time again!].

The above picture shows an image from a future post.

Being Fortunate

Morimoto

The above picture was taken at Morimoto.

The title of my post is being fortunate for all that I have been able to have and experience.  Morimoto was one of those experiences that are quite uncommon, please do go there and try the food for yourself.  It’s quite yummy. :p

I just want to let everyone know that Jon and I are completely and utterly grateful for everything that we’ve been blessed with thus far.  Who knew that I’d be living in my own place with the love of my life, my husband, at age 22 (23 now).  We have four wonderful pets that we absolutely adore and we’re both happy and healthy.  We couldn’t ask for more!

Maybe I’ll post something more interesting a little later… :)

By the way – Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out this weekend!  Jon and I have a copy on reserve so we can go to GameStop for their midnight opening!  YAY!

My First [new] Blog Post

So Jon just recently changed to WordPress and I followed as well. SNews just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Writing posts and such was very tedious and the layout of the admin area wasn’t great. I’m much happier with WordPress. I’m also glad I found a layout that I like that wasn’t the generic WordPress theme.

Bare with me in terms of changes to this blog at the moment. I’m trying to fix everything and change tidbits to my liking.

For now though….enjoy!

Engaged!

Yup! You got it!
I am engaged!
Jon proposed on May 4, 2007 at 1am. Amazing eh? One minute I’m Teresa “the girlfriend” and now I’m Teresa “the fiancée.”

The picture to the left is a picture that Jon took while I was on the phone just spewing out my story to my parents in the beginning. I had to call Deb and Christine 10x b/c it was so late. The both of them were freaking out with me together. Of course, you can always count on your girls to freak out with you. I didn’t sleep until 3:30am last night. Jon took the day off to spend it with me as our first day as an engaged couple.

Honestly, I’m still in shock, however the tears have stopped streaming out every time I tell the story of how Jon proposed.

First Pinky Post

10,000 Miles

*This is a previous post from my old blog – edited time stamp to reflect original date.

So this is my first new post on my site. I really like the way it’s turning out so far. I ‘hired’ a web designer [my boyfriend] to do this for me and he will use this as part of his examples for his portfolio.

So I posted that picture up of my odometer. My car has already turned a year old and also already passed 10,000 miles. What a feat! Another 60,000 and then a nice trade-in for an RX. :D

Jon and I went to test drive an IS and an RX. I think both are great cars to buy. When both TLs are old enough for us, we’ll trade. As for right now, we’re both happy with the cars.

I’ll post up later another picture that has 3 TLs that my sister took in the parking garage. I swear, this is a family of TLs (by the way, my mom drives a white one too).

Well, off to bed now. Look for new updates everyday. This is where I will be blogging from now on basically.

Enjoy! Goodnight.
