Truffles’ Teeth Transformation

So over a month (or 2?) ago, I had Truffles’ teeth deep-cleaned.  Truffles has always been a brat about brushing his teeth and nothing seemed to ever work.  After Zoey ate a greenie that never broke down [yes, that means I saw it in her poop], I vowed to never feed the dogs greenies.  I ended up purchasing other doggie dentals treats but the rare brushing of teeth and treats never helped the situation.  Truffles’ breath was god-awful all the time so since I was making more money, I thought – instead of buying myself something that I probably don’t need, I’ll get Truffles’ teeth cleaned.

After over $700 later, I’ve got a happy pup that has pearly whites!  I find that my vet is slightly pricey [but I mean, what vet isn't expensive?!], but they do such a thorough job.  They gave me printouts, a ton of information and called me almost every hour telling me about how Truffles’ was doing.  He was my brave little toaster.  He came home a little groggy, but happy to be home with mommy and daddy.

You can check out his paperwork (Truffles Dental Paperwork), if you’re so inclined. :)

Currently, he’s a little better about brushing his teeth.  I put him in the sink of my laundry room and that’s where all the doggie supplies are located.  I use a rinse that was given to me by the vet and I put the doggie toothpaste on his teeth 2-3 times a week.

Happy 4th Birthday Truffles

Happy Birthday to my little man!  He’s 4 years old today – he’s older than me now!  Hehe.  He’s my pride and joy.  He’s been so great and loving.  He walks with mommy all around the house and knows a bunch of tricks.  He can sit, lie down, up/beg, shake and roll over (granted…he does ALL his tricks when there’s a treat involved).

I him soooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

Update

So I need to provide another update.

Every few days I get this idea to update my blog, but I find that I either, do not have a picture to go with it or I just don’t have time to post.  I really need to get better at this.

Since my Prague trip:

  • I was laid-off again [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]. Trust me, I hate that company now.  They did it when I was sick after my trip back.  Luckily they gave me 2 weeks severance even though I had only been working there for a month.  I deserved it.
  • My sister turned 16!!!!  I remember her being a baby like it was just yesterday….
  • I found a job [that paid even more than the place that just laid me off, which is...$10k more than what I was making in February!!] before I needed to claim unemployment!  [A HUGE Thank You to my references!]
  • I usually reward myself when I get a new job, but instead I used that non-existent money to have Truffles’ teeth deep-cleaned.  His breath was god-awful before, but now there’s no smell at all!  I plan on doing a blog post about the transformation.
  • My parents MOVED.  Yes, MOVED.  They’ve been living at the condo  for what, 15+ years now?  They finally jumped on a great deal on a townhouse in Chantilly.  They’ve updated a few things, such as the kitchen [I love their granite], changed the carpet, changed a few fixtures and added recessed lighting.
  • I finally went to the Jersey shore [specifically, Wildwood] and had the famous, Mack’s pizza.  I rode the rides and got sunburned….
  • I watched Lady GaGa in concert in Atlantic City, NJ!  She was awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • I may have found beloved Christian Louboutin Bianca in Nude!!!!  More details on that later…

I think that’s about it in terms of excitement.  I’ll try to get posts up on some of the more eventful things in the list later. :]

Home theater riser

So Jon built us a riser for our home theater.

My basement is such a man-cave really there’s no womanly touches anywhere besides maybe my quilts that I sometimes use…

Anyways, this past Monday we got our riser carpeted in a darker shade to match our walls which are dark gray.  Unfortunately, the maker that made my gray carpet in my basement doesn’t make that shade anymore so I had to choose something different to tie it all in.

Truffles Update

Truffles - Up

*This is a previous post from my old blog – edited time stamp to reflect original date.

So here’s an update I promised on my truffles.

I’m including pictures of him after I got him groomed the first time. He’s so handsome and everybody loves him.

So currently truffles is over 5 months now. Next month I need to get him neutered.

I joined a meetup group for yorkies on www.meetup.com recently and I went to my first meetup event. It wasn’t as spectacular as I thought, but they said more people usually show up. However though, I got a number of tips and tricks from the other women. I plan on going to their meetups to meet other people that have yorkies in the area. I want my baby to be well socialized with others. :)

Truffles – New Addition to the Family

 Baby Truffles

*This is a previous post from my old blog – edited time stamp to reflect original date.

It’s really late, but I had to post tonight.

I just wanted to say that I have a new addition to the family (Van Dalen/Chang) with a Truffles. He’s about 3 months old (born August 17th) and weighs about 3 lbs. I’ve been wanting one for a long time now and now I have him. It’s a joy to have him and it’ll be interesting and a learning experience for Jon and I. We’re crate training him now b/c we cannot keep a play pen up in the place that we live in (we could, but then our other dog will have no place to sleep). :)

I’m so excited for everything that’s going to come. It’s been a long time coming and I’ve been searching quite awhile.

In the beginning, he was bouncy and hopping all over the place. However, once he started going to unknown areas, he started to be a little timid. Now he’s warming up to Jon and I like no other (following us and sleeping in our laps and also whining when we go away/disappear).

He’s the best and like I said, I’m so excited!!!!

I just also want to say that I couldn’t do it without Jon, I love you.

Goodnight!!!
